SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Locations for installing the winged channel posts must be shown on the plans.
2) The length and mass of the winged channel post must be shown on the plans.
3) Winged channel posts will be installed such that the reflector units and/or reflectorized panels will
be at the height shown on the plans.
4) The minimum embedment depth for the winged channel posts must be shown on the plans.
5) This is a plans quantity measurement Item.

2) The description specifying the type, color (white or yellow), shapes, sizes, widths and
thickness

shown on the plans.
3) Guides to mark the lateral location of pavement markings will be established as shown
on the
plans or as directed by the Engineer.
4) Where double stripes are placed, each stripe will be measured separately.

686 - TRAFFIC SIGNAL POLE
ASSEMBLIES (STEEL)
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The types and sizes of the traffic signal pole assemblies must be shown on the plans.
2) The location of the traffic signal poles must be shown on the plans.
3) Fabrication, welding and erection details must be shown on the plans.
4) The design wind speed for the traffic signal pole assemblies must be specified
on the plans.
5) For optional pole designs, the pole assemblies will be compatible with the foundation
details, signal
heads and other attachments shown on the plans.
6) Foundations for the traffic signal pole assemblies will be constructed to the details
shown on the plans
and will be paid for under Item 656.
7) Shafts for poles and mast arms may be round or octagonal and will be tapered as shown
on the plans.
8) Anchor bolts will be oriented as shown on the plans.
