SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1) Limits must be shown on the plans.
2) Trees, shrubs and other landscape features specified for preservation should be clearly shown on the plans.
3) When removing trees, must specify the diameter of the trees being removed.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When wells are included to be removed, the shall be removed and paid for in accordance with Item 103.

104 - REMOVING CONCRETE

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits and/or locations of removal must be shown on the plans.
2) Removal of monolithic curbs and/or dowel concrete curbs on concrete pavements is considered part of the concrete pavement and will not be measured separately for payment.
3) This is a plans quantity measurement Item.
4) Removal of stabilized base or asphaltic concrete will be paid for by the applicable bid Items unless otherwise shown on the plans. 5) All retaining wall footings will not be paid for directly by considered subsidiary.

106 - OBLITERATING ABANDONED ROAD

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits must be shown on the plans.
2) Removal of abandoned structures will be considered subsidiary to this Item, unless otherwise shown on the plans.
3) Removal of any asphaltic material will be paid for in conformance with applicable bid Items and can be stockpiled at locations shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer.

112 - SUBGRADE WIDENING

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits must be shown on the plans.
2) Show areas to be widened on the typical section(s).
3) Type of compaction must be specified on the plans.
4) This is a plans quantity measurement Item.
5) When "Ordinary Compaction" is specified, all sprinkling and rolling, except proof rolling, will not be paid for directly, but will be considered subsidiary to this Item, unless otherwise shown on the plans.
6) When "Density Control" is specified, all sprinkling and rolling, except proof rolling, will not be paid for directly, but will be considered subsidiary to this Item.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When proof rolling is shown on the plans, it will be paid for in accordance with Item 216.

132 - EMBANKMENT

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits and/or locations for embankments must be shown on the plans.
2) Type C material must conform to the specification requirements shown on the plans.
3) For type D material, the required excavation areas must be shown on the plans.
4) Type of compaction must be specified on the plans.
5) When "Ordinary Compaction" is specified, all sprinkling and rolling, except proof rolling, will not be paid for directly, but will be considered subsidiary to this Item, unless otherwise shown on the plans.
6) When "Density Control" is specified, all sprinkling and rolling, except proof rolling, will not be paid for directly, but will be considered subsidiary to this Item.
7) Retaining wall backfill areas which are also in embankment areas will be measured for payment as embankment except as shown on the plans. Limits of measurement for embankment in retaining wall areas will be as shown on the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet:

2) Minimum length of "Road Grader Work" section is not less than five consecutive 100-foot stations, with exception of bridge replacement projects.
3) Type of compaction must be specified on the plans.
4) When "Ordinary Compaction" is specified, "Sprinkling" and "Rolling" will not be paid for directly, but shall be considered as subsidiary work pertaining to this Item, unless otherwise specified on the plans.

1) The amount and type of seed planting must be shown on the plans.
2) Seed will be sown in rates based on pure live seed (PLS) per acre as shown on the plans and will be distributed over the areas shown on the plans or where directed by the Engineer.

192 - ROADSIDE PLANTING AND ESTABLISHMENT

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Location and size of plants must be shown on the plans.
2) Ball sizes for "Balled or Burlapped Stock", "Collected Stock", and/or "Bag Grown Stock" must be shown on the plans.
3) Approved minimum root spread and condition for "Bare Root Stock" must be as shown on the plans.
4) Backfill material will be mixed in proportions shown on the plans.
5) Plant supports will be of the type shown on the plans and/or as directed by the Engineer.
6) Tree wrapping will be of the type shown on the plans.
7) Pesticides, including herbicides, must be of the types shown on the plans.
8) Type of fertilizer analysis, frequency and rate of application must be shown on the plans.
9) Areas to be mowed or trimmed, mowing heights and frequency must be shown on the plans.
10) For plant replacement (if needed), the plants replaced will be of the species and sizes as shown on the plans and will be replaced according to the placement and backfilling details shown on the plans.

1) When an irrigation system is specified, it will be paid for in accordance with Item 170.

193 - LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Locations and/or areas for landscape maintenance can be shown on the plans or can be as directed by the Engineer.
2) Pesticides, including herbicides, must be of the types shown on the plans.
3) Type of fertilizer analysis, frequency and rate of application must be shown on the plans.
4) Areas to be mowed or trimmed, mowing heights and frequency must be shown on the plans.
5) Plant supports will be of the type shown on the plans and/or as directed by the Engineer.
6) For plant replacement (if needed), the plants replaced will be of the species and sizes as shown on the plans and will be replaced according to the placement and backfilling details shown on the plans.
7) Areas to be watered and rates of application can be shown on the plans or can be as directed by the Engineer if irrigation system is not available.
8) The existing condition of the irrigation system and any known deficiencies must be shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When "Landscape Maintenance" is used in conjunction with Item 192, all work is to be accomplished subsequent to the work shown in Item 192.
