ITEM NO. - TITLE AND REQUIREMENTS

5001 - TEMPORARY METAL BEAM GUARD FENCE

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Locations and/or limits can be shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer.
2) Construction details for the temporary metal beam guard fence must be shown
    on the plans along with the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet for the
    design and installation details of metal beam guard fence:

  • MBGF-01(M) Metal Beam Guard Fence

3) Any portions of the temporary metal beam guard fence furnished by the State must be
    shown on the plans and can be picked up at a designated location shown on the plans.
4) If using temporary barrel mounted guard fence, must include the following Statewide Standard Details 
    Sheet for the installation details of temporary barrel mounted metal beam guard fence:

  • TB(BMGF)-95(M) Temporary Barrier Barrel-Mounted Guard Fence

5002 - ROCK FILTER DAMS FOR EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations of rock filter dams can be shown on the plans or as directed
    by the Engineer.
2) The types of rock filter dams must be shown on the plans.
3) The dimensions for the volume of rock must be shown on the plans for rock filter
    dams measured by the cubic meter.
4) The length must be shown on the plans for rock filter dams measured by the meter.
5) Must include the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet for the design and
    installation details for rock filter dams:

  • EC(2)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control
                              Measures---Rock Filter Dams

6) The construction details of a type 5 rock filter dam must be shown on the plans.
7) The removal of accumulated sediment deposits will be measured and paid for under
    Special Specification Item 5005, "Earthwork for Erosion Control".

5003 - BALED HAY FOR EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations of the hay bales can be shown on the plans or as
    directed by the Engineer.
2) Must include the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet for the design and
    installation details for hay bales:

  • EC(1)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control
                              Measures---Fence & Baled Hay

3) The removal of accumulated sediment deposits will be measured and paid for under
    Special Specification Item 5005, "Earthwork for Erosion Control".

5005 - EARTHWORK FOR EROSION CONTROL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The type of equipment used or a combination of equipment used must be shown on
    the plans, unless, the bid item "Earthwork (Erosion Control)" is used, then the
    equipment used will be at the Contractor's option as long as it is approved 
    by the Engineer.
2) The details for dikes, swales, sediment basins and sediment traps can be shown on
    the plans or you can include one or more of the following Statewide Standard Details
    Sheets for earthwork for erosion control:

  • EC(4)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control
                              Measures---Dikes (Earthwork for Erosion Control)
  • EC(5)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control
                              Measures---Swales (Earthwork for Erosion Control)
  • EC(6)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control
                             Measures---Sediment Basins and Traps  (Earthwork for Erosion Control)

3) The locations for dikes, swales, sediment basins and sediment traps can be shown on
    the plans or as directed by the Engineer.

5006 - CONSTRUCTION EXITS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The types of construction exits must be shown on the plans.
2) The locations for the construction exits will be identified by the Engineer.
3) Must include the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet for the design and
    installation details for construction exits:

  • EC(3)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control
                              Measures---Construction Exits

4) The construction of sediment traps and the removal of accumulated sediment
    deposits will be measured and paid for under Special Specification Item 5005,
    "Earthwork for Erosion Control".
5) The construction details of a Type 4 construction exit must be shown on the plans.

5008 - HEX-FOAM SANDWICH SYSTEM CRASH CUSHIONS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Polymer Nosing Sealed Expansion Joints shall be as shown on the plans.
2) The nose cover shall be supported by two legs as shown on the plans.
3) All steel materials used shall be fabricated with ASTM A36 steel unless otherwise specified 
    and after fabrication, shall be galvanized in accordance with ASTM A123.

5010 - TEMPORARY PAVED FLUMES FOR EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Locations for the temporary paved flumes can be shown on the plans or as
    directed by the Engineer.
2) The details for the temporary paved flumes and sediment traps can be shown on the plans 
    or you can include one or both of the following Statewide Standard Details Sheets for
    earthwork for erosion control:

  • EC(6)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control
                              Measures---Sediment Basins and Traps (Earthwork for Erosion Control)
  • EC(8)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control
                              Measures---Temporary Paved Flumes

3) The construction of sediment traps and the removal of accumulated sediment deposits will be

5011 - TEMPORARY PIPE SLOPE DRAINS FOR EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for the temporary pipe slope drains can be shown on the plans or
    as directed by the Engineer.
2) The temporary pipe will be either corrugated metal pipe, PVC pipe or flexible tubing
     of the diameter shown on the plans.
3) The flared inlet details will be as shown on the plans.
4) The details for the temporary pipe slope drains and sediment traps can be shown on the
     plans or you can include one or both of the following Statewide Standard Details Sheets
     for earthwork for erosion control:

  • EC(6)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control Measures---
                              Sediment Basins and Traps (Earthwork for Erosion Control)
  • EC(7)-95(M) Temporary Erosion, Sediment and Water Pollution Control Measures---
                              Temporary Pipe Slope Drains

5) The construction of sediment traps and the removal of accumulated sediment deposits 
    will be measured and paid for under Special Specification Item 5005,
    "Earthwork for Erosion Control".
6) The riprap concrete and/or stone used as an energy dissipater or for stabilizing the 
    sediment trap will be measured and paid for under Item 432.

5015 - ANTI-GRAFFITI COATING

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The type of anti-graffiti coating must be shown on the plans.
2) The anti-graffiti coating will be applied at locations and/or areas shown on the
    plans or as directed by the Engineer.
3) The anti-graffiti coating product name, producer name, and the exact location
    where the coating was applied must be recorded for future reference because it
    is important that the material applied for the recoat is the same as the material that
    was initially applied.
4) This is a plans quantity measurement Item.
