SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for installing Digital Loop Detector Units shall be of the various types 
    shown on the plans.
2) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, loop detector units shall be single channel units.
3) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, the loop detector unit shall be supplied with the 
    delay and extend output features included in this specification. Unless otherwise shown 
    on the plans, the delay and extended features shall not be required to function simultaneously.

6005 - PROGRAMMABLE SIGNAL HEADS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Programmable Signal Heads shall be as shown on the plans.
2) The head shall mount to standard 38 millimeter fittings as a single section, multiple sections 
    or in combination with other faces. The fittings shall be provided with the head and shall 
    be mounted as shown on the plans.

6007 - ROADSIDE FLASHING BEACON ASSEMBLIES

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Roadside Flashing Beacon Assemblies shall be as shown on the plans.
2) Roadside flashing beacon assemblies shall be fabricated, assembled and installed in accordance 
    with the details and dimensions shown on the plans or as approved by the Engineer in writing 
    and shall meet the requirements of the TMUTCD.
3) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, the Contractor shall stake and the Engineer will verify 
    all roadside flashing beacon assembly locations.
4) When shown on the plans, line (ungrounded conductor) connector shall be fused.

6008 - SALVAGING TRAFFIC SIGNALS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Salvaging Traffic Signals shall be in accordance with the plans or as 
    directed by the Engineer.
2) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, existing concrete foundations that are to be abandoned 
    shall be removed to 610 millimeters below finish grade.

6009 - TEMPORARY LIGHTING SYSTEM

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for installing Temporary Lighting System shall be as shown on the plans.
2) The Contractor shall furnish all material except, when shown on the plans, the State 
    may furnish part of the Material.
3) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, luminaires shall be installed on bracket arms mounted on 
    timber poles. Unless otherwise shown on the plans, conductors may be installed either underground 
    or overhead at the option of the Contractor and with approval of the Engineer.
4) Poles on an existing highway lighting system will not be used to support overhead wiring unless 
    approved by the Engineer or shown on the plans.
5) The Contractor shall pay all connection charges required by the utility company. Unless otherwise 
    shown on the plans, the State will pay all monthly utility service and energy charges. Unless otherwise 
    shown on the plans, the Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining the temporary lighting system.

6010 - REMOVING AND REPLACING ROADWAY LUMINAIRES

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for removing and replacing Roadway Luminaires shall be as shown on the plans.
2) All materials and construction methods shall be in accordance with the details shown on the plans.
3) The Contractor shall replace existing luminaires with new luminaires of the types and wattages 
    shown on the plans.
4) Unless otherwise noted on the plans, existing luminaires will remain the property of the State and 
    the Contractor shall stockpile luminaires at a location designated by the Engineer.

6019 - INTERNALLY LIGHTED STREET NAME SIGNS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Internally Lighted Street Name Signs shall be as shown on the plans.
2) Signs and sign messages shall conform to the dimensions and details shown on the plans. Signs 
    shall have single side message or double side message as shown on the plans. Unless otherwise 
    shown on the plans or required in this specification, all fasteners and screws in or on the fixture 
    shall be stainless steel Type 302 or 305, brass or aluminum. Clamp on street name sign mast arms, 
    when required, shall be in accordance with the details shown on the plans.

6022 - SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM LOOP DETECTORS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Surveillance System Loop Detectors shall be as shown on the plans.
2) Pavement cuts shall be made to a depth of 50 millimeters unless otherwise shown on the plans 
    or directed by the Engineer.
3) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, splices of detector leads to lead-in cable shall be made only 
    in the ground box or station ground box adjacent to the detector loop location. The size and location 
    of each detector loop shall be as shown on the plans, unless otherwise directed by the Engineer.
    The wire configuration and number of turns for each detector loop shall conform to the manufacturer’s 
    recommendation unless otherwise shown on the plans. Terminals back panel receiving system loop 
   detector lead-ins shall be labeled according to the format shown on the plans, unless otherwise directed 
    by the Engineer.
4) Cable placement in parallel conduit shall be as shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer.

3) Guides to mark the lateral location of pavement markings shall be established as shown on the plans

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Portable Changeable Message Signs shall be as indicated under the provisions 
    for traffic handling provided in the contract, as shown on the plan details, or as directed by the Engineer.
2) The sign control circuitry shall provide for the permanent storage of a minimum of 15 
    pre-programmed messages, the text of which shall be shown on the plans.

    The Contractor will not be compensated for any pairs of wires over the number shown on the plans.
3) If specified in the plans, plug-in telephone hand sets shall be provided for use in communicating 
    between the central master controller and the intersection controllers.

6607 - PEDESTAL POLE ASSEMBLIES

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for furnishing and installing Pedestal Pole Assemblies shall be as shown on the plans.
2) All pedestal pole assemblies shall conform to the detailed drawings and requirements shown on 
    the plans as to height, general design and finish.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When painting is required by the plans, the pedestal pole shall receive System II aluminum in 
    accordance with Item 446, "Cleaning, Paint and Painting", unless otherwise shown on the plans.
