ITEM NO. - TITLE AND REQUIREMENTS
7001 - JANITORIAL AND/OR GROUNDS
MAINTENANCE
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Janitorial and/or Grounds Maintenance shall be as
designated and described
in the General Notes and Specification Data Sheet(s).
2) Schedules for Janitorial and/or Grounds Maintenance are designated in the
General Notes and
Specification Data Sheet(s).
3) Mowing shall be performed in all areas designated on the plans.
4) Methods and/or directions for the removal and disposal of grass clippings,
tree clippings, leaves
and/or pine straw shall be as shown in the General Notes and
Specification Data Sheet(s).
5) Watering of trees, shrubs and plant beds shall be performed at the locations
as designated on
the plans. The schedule of watering and rates of water application for
trees, shrubs and plant
beds will be as designated in the General Notes and Specification Data
Sheet(s).
6) Designated area(s) shall be cleaned of all litter within the limits shown on
the plans.

7004 - SNOW AND ICE
CONTROL
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Snow and Ice Control shall be as directed by the Engineer.
2) Trucks and spreaders must be fully equipped and ready for use during the time
specified
on the General Notes and Specification Data Sheet(s).
3) The Contractor shall furnish the number of truck-trains as specified in the
General Notes
and Specification Data Sheet(s). The trucks shall not be less than the size as
specified in
the General Notes and the Specification Data Sheet(s). Trail vehicles will be equipped
with signs as
shown on the General Notes and Specification Data Sheet(s).
4) The spreader size shall be as specified in the General Notes and
Specification Data Sheet(s).
5) The designated location for the Contractor to report to must be designated in
the General
Notes and Specification Data Sheet(s).

7006 - ATTENUATOR
REPAIR/UPGRADE
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Attenuator Repair/Upgrade shall be as shown on the plans.
2) The Department will furnish replacement units and/or component parts
including barrels, posts, nose
covers or object markers, and delineator posts unless
otherwise specified in the General Notes and
Specification Data Sheet(s). The Contractor shall be required
to pick up the needed units and/or parts
at sites designated in the General Notes and Specification
Data sheet(s). The Contractor shall also be
required to load, haul and unload the units and/or parts to
the locations designated in the General Notes
and Specification Data Sheet(s).
3) The Contractor shall make repairs/upgrades in accordance with the standard
design sheet(s) shown
on the plans or as directed by the Engineer.

7008 - REPAIR AND/OR MODIFY SIGNAL
EQUIPMENT
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Traffic Signals shall be as designated in the General Notes
and Specification
Data Sheet(s).
2) Unless otherwise noted on the plans, all materials that become part of the
final installation are
to be furnished to the Contractor at no charge. Materials shall be picked up
at the time(s) and
location(s) set out in the General Notes and Specification Data Sheet(s).
3) Installation of the proposed signal projects will be as described in the
General Notes and
Specification Data Sheet(s).
4) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, all conductors shall be in conduit,
except when in metal
poles. Conduits shall be placed as shown on the plans or as directed by the
Engineer. Unless
otherwise shown on the plans, conduit placed in an open trench shall be placed at least
450 millimeters in depth.
5) The Contractor, after installation of the loop, shall check for continuity at
the controller cabinet.
Detection will be tested by using a simulation unit as shown on the plans.
6) PVC Junction Boxes shall be installed at locations shown on the plans or as
directed by
the Engineer.
7) Cable in conduit shall be of the various sizes and types as shown on the
plans.

7011 - LANE
CLOSURES
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for Lane Closures shall be as shown on the
plans or as specified by the Engineer.
2) All barricades, signs, cones, arrowboards and other types of devices,
necessary for the installation
and maintenance of the lane closures, shall conform to details
shown on the plans or those indicated
in the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD).

7025 - SPOT REPAIR OF FLEXIBLE BASE AND/OR SUBGRADE
(Routine
Maintenance Contracts Only)
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The minimum length and width for any segment of work to be performed under
this Item
shall be as specified in the General Notes and Specification
Data Sheet(s). This work shall
involve the repairing of subgrade, base, and replacing
surface with asphaltic prime, seal or
asphaltic material as shown in the General Notes and
Specification Data Sheet(s).
2) The Contractor shall furnish all materials unless otherwise specified.
3) Materials, when furnished by the Department, will be located at sites
designated in the
General Notes and Specification Data Sheet(s).
4) The rate of application of asphalt and aggregate will be as set forth in the
General Notes
and Specification Data Sheet(s).
5) When directed by the Engineer the surface applied shall be hot mix asphaltic
concrete or
limestone rock asphalt and shall be the type as specified in
the General Notes and
Specification Data Sheet(s).
OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete Pavement is required, it will be in
accordance
with Item 340.
2) When Limestone Rock Asphalt Pavement (Class A) is required, it will be in
accordance
with Item 330.
3) When Limestone Rock Asphalt Pavement (Class B) is required, it will be in

REPLACEMENT
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Locations will be as designated in the General Notes and Specification Data
Sheet(s).
2) All materials that are to become part of the final work will be furnished by
the
Department unless otherwise specified in the General Notes
and Specification Data Sheet(s).
A list of required materials shall be submitted to the
Department at least 24 hours in advance
of the requested pickup date between the hours of 8:00 A.M.
and 4:00 P.M. at sites
designated in the General Notes and Specification Data
Sheet(s).
3) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, conduit placed in an open trench shall
be placed
at least 460 millimeters in depth.
