530 - DRIVEWAYS AND TURNOUTS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The type of driveways and/or turnouts will consist of a pavement surface
    consisting of concrete, asphaltic concrete pavement and/or surface treatment as
    specified on the plans.
2) Locations, typical sections, materials and details must be shown on the plans.
3) Type of reinforcement, if required, will be placed in position as shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When construction consists of concrete, it will be in accordance with Items 360 and 522.

531 - SIDEWALKS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Sidewalk details must be shown on the plans.
3) The location and type of reinforcement will be shown on the plans.
4) Sidewalks will be constructed in sections of the lengths shown on the plans.
5) Thickness of the premolded or board joints must be shown on the plans.
6) Details for wheelchair ramps must be shown on the plans.

534 - STRUCTURE APPROACH SLABS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

3) Joint sealants will be installed in accordance with the details shown on the plans.
4) The following Statewide Standard Details Sheets are available for constructing
    the structure approach slab:

538 - RIGHT OF WAY MARKERS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Location and depth of markers must be shown on the plans.
2) The following Statewide Standard Details Sheet is available for the construction
    of right of way markers:

  • M-95(M)   Right of Way Markers

3) The Department will furnish the bronze disks when they are specified on the plans.
4) When bids are requested for "Right of Way Markers (Install)", the markers will
    be furnished to the Contractor from the sources shown on the plans.

540 - METAL BEAM GUARD FENCE

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Location and/or limits can be shown on the plans or can be as designated by the
    Engineer.
2) Must include the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet for the design
    details and construction of metal beam guard fence:

  • MBGF-01(M)    Metal Beam Guard Fence

3) Type of post must be shown on the plans.
4) The thickness of the rail element must be shown on the plans.
5) Specify on plans if timber posts will be domed or beveled or if steel posts will
    be beveled or square.
6) Length of posts will be as shown on the plans.
7) The following Statewide Standard Details Sheet is required when connecting
    the metal beam guard fence to bridge ends:

1) Location and/or limits for installing chain link fence can be shown on the plans or
    as designated by the Engineer.
2) Location, type, height and width of opening of gates must be shown on the plans.
3) Must include the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet for the design
    details and construction of chain link fence and gates:

  • CLF-00(M)     Chain Link Barrier Fence, 1200 and 1800 mm Height

4) The overall height of the fence will be the specified height above grade as
    shown on the plans.
5) The size and mass will be the same for all posts, pipe braces and gate frames
    and will be shown on the plans.

552 - WIRE FENCE

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Locations and/or limits and type of fence must be shown on plans.
2) Location, type, height and width of opening of gates must be shown on plans.
3) Must include one of the following Statewide Standard Details Sheets for the
    design details and construction of barbed wire or woven wire fence:

  • WF(1)-95(M)   Barbed Wire Fence and Woven Wire Fence, Timber Posts
  • WF(2)-95(M)   Barbed Wire Fence and Woven Wire Fence, Steel Posts

4) All metal posts and braces will meet the mass and length requirements
    shown on the plans.
5) All untreated wood posts or treated wood posts will be of the size and length
    shown on the plans.
6) All posts will be spaced at the intervals and set in a vertical position to the
    depth shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When treated wood posts and braces are involved, they will be in accordance with Item 492.

556 - PIPE UNDERDRAINS

    or as directed by the Engineer.
2) Type and size of pipe will be shown on the plans.
3) Type 9 pipe will be perforated pipe as shown on the plans.
4) Type 10 pipe will be non-perforated pipe as shown on the plans.
5) Filter material will be placed to the depth shown on the plans.
6) Type F filter material will be shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) If Type E filter material is proposed, it will be in accordance with Item 302.
2) When riprap or headwalls are required, theyit will be in accordance with Items 432 or 420.
