302 - AGGREGATES FOR SURFACE TREATMENTS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Type E aggregate will be as shown on the plans.
2) Type PE precoated aggregate will be as shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When precoating of fluxing material is used, it will be paid for in accordance with Item 300.

The aggregates provided in accordance with this specification will be measured and paid for in accordance
with the governing specifications for the items of construction in which these materials are used.

303 - AGGREGATE FOR SURFACE TREATMENTS (LIGHTWEIGHT)

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) When precoating of fluxing material is used, it will be paid for in accordance with Item 300.

accordance with governing specifications for the items of construction in which these materials

305 - SALVAGING, HAULING AND STOCKPILING RECLAIMABLE ASPHALTIC PAVEMENT

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Stockpile locations can be shown on the plans or as approved by the Engineer.
2) Limits and/or locations for removing existing asphaltic concrete pavement and/or
    asphalt stabilized base must be shown on the plans.
3) Width and depth of existing asphaltic concrete pavement and/or asphalt stabilized base
  to be removed must be shown on the plans.
4) Maximum stockpile height, method of construction or other stockpile requirement may
    be shown on the plans.

314 - EMULSIFIED ASPHALT TREATMENT

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Type and grade of emulsified asphalt must be shown on the plans.
3) The percent of emulsified asphalt in the mixture will be within the limits shown on the plans.
4) When the emulsified asphalt and water mixture is incorporated into the top portion of the
    subbase or base course, the depth and width must be shown on the plans.
5) The rate of application can be shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer.

315 - EMULSIFIED ASPHALT SEAL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Type and grade of emulsified asphalt must be shown on the plans.
3) The percent of emulsified asphalt in the mixture will be within the limits shown on the plans.
4) The rate of application can be shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer.

316 - SURFACE TREATMENTS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Type(s) and grade(s) of  asphalt must be shown on the plans.
3) Type(s) and grade(s) of  aggregate  must be shown on the plans.
4) Specify if construction consists of a one, two or three course application of surface treatment.
5) The rates of application of asphalt and aggregate must be shown on the plans.
6) The polish value of the aggregate used in the surface or final course must be shown on the plans.
7) When shown on the plans, the Department will furnish aggregate.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When Aggregate for Surface Treatments is required, it will be in accordance with Item 302.
2) When Aggregate for Surface Treatments (Lightweight) is required, it will be in accordance with
    Item 303.

318 - HOT ASPHALT-RUBBER SURFACE TREATMENTS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Type of rubber gradation must be specified on the plans.
3) Type(s) and grade(s) of  aggregate  must be shown on the plans.
4) Specify if construction consists of a one or two course application of hot asphalt-rubber
    surface treatment.
5) The rates of application of hot asphalt-rubber and aggregate must be shown on the plans.
6) The polish value of the aggregate used in the surface or final course must be shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When Aggregate for Surface Treatments is required, it will be in accordance with Item 302.
2) When Aggregate for Surface Treatments (Lightweight) is required, it will be in accordance with
    Item 303.

330 - LIMESTONE ROCK ASPHALT PAVEMENT (CLASS A)

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Specify if construction consists of a base course, a surface course, a level-up course,
    or a combination of these courses.
3) Width and depth of these courses must be shown on the typical section(s).
4) The polish value of the coarse aggregate used in the surface or final course of the travel
    lanes must be shown on the plans.
5) Type and rate of application of limestone rock asphalt pavement must be shown on the plans.
