SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Specify if construction consists of a surface course, a level-up course, or a combination
    of these courses.
3) Width and depth of these courses must be shown on the typical section(s).
4) The polish value of the coarse aggregate used in the surface or final course of the travel
     lanes must be shown on the plans.
5) Type and rate of application of limestone rock asphalt pavement must be shown on the plans.

334 - HOT MIX-COLD LAID ASPHALTIC CONCRETE PAVEMENT

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Specify if construction consists of a base course, a level-up course, a surface course, or a
    combination of these courses.
3) Width and depth of these courses must be shown on the typical section(s).
4) The polish value of the coarse aggregate used in the surface or final course of the travel lanes
    must be shown on the plans.
5) Type and rate of application of hot mix-cold laid asphaltic concrete pavement must be shown
    on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When Antistriping Agents are required, they will be in accordance with Item 301.

340 - HOT MIX ASPHALTIC CONCRETE PAVEMENT

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  1) Specify if construction consists of a base course, a level-up course, a surface course, or a
      combination of these courses.
  2) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
  3) Width and depth of these courses must be shown on the typical section(s).
  4) Type and rate of application of asphaltic concrete must be shown on the plans.
  5) RAP use will be allowed in all mixtures unless specifically excluded in this specification or
      on the plans.
  6) When specified on the plans, certain coarse or fine aggregate material may be allowed, required
      or prohibited.
  7) The polish value of the coarse aggregate used in the surface or finish course of the travel lanes
      must be shown on the plans.
  8) When RAP sources are designated, either in stockpile or existing pavements, the approximate
      gradation, asphalt content and asphalt cement properties of this material will be shown on the plans
      for material existing in pavements or in a special provision "Local Material Sources for
      Reclaimed Asphaltic Pavement" for material in existing stockpiles.
  9) Excess RAP removed from designated sources will remain the property of the State and will be
      delivered to stockpile locations shown on the plans.
10) The asphalt material used for the paving mixture shall be of the grade shown on the plans or designated
      by the Engineer.

1) When Antistriping Agents are required, they will be in accordance with Item 301.

342 - PLANT MIX SEAL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Width of the wearing surface must be shown on the typical section(s).
3) The polish value of the aggregate used in the surface or final course of the travel lanes must
    be shown on the plans.
4) Grade 3 requirements for aggregate gradation must be shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When grade 2 aggregate is used, it will be in accordance with Item 340.
2) When "Aggregate for Surface Treatments" is required, it will be in accordance with Item 302.
3) When "Aggregate for Surface Treatments (Lightweight)" is required, it will be in accordance with
    Item 303.
4) When "Asphalt Antistripping Agents" are required, they will be in accordance with Item 301.

345 - ASPHALT STABILIZED BASE (PLANT MIX)

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) The grade of the asphalt stabilized base mixture must be shown on the plans.
3) When RAP sources are designated from the existing pavement, the approximate gradation,
    asphalt content and asphalt cement properties of this material must be shown on the plans
4) When RAP sources are designated from existing stockpiles, the approximate gradation,
    asphalt content and asphalt cement properties of this material must be shown in a Special
    Provision, "Local Material Sources for Reclaimed Asphaltic Pavement".
5) When Grade 4 asphalt stabilized base mixture is specified, the aggregate quality requirements
    and the gradation percentage must be shown on the plans.

4) When "Asphalt Antistripping Agents" are required, they will be in accordance with Item 301.

351 - REPAIRING EXISTING FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT STRUCTURE

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Specify the depth of repair and the type of materials to be used for repairing the flexible
    pavement structure.
3) Type and grade of flexible base must be shown on the plans.
4) Type, grade and rate of application of prime coat must be shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When required, surface treatments shall conform to the material requirements of Item 316.
2) When "Hot Mix-Cold Laid Asphaltic Concrete Pavement" is required, it will be in accordance with
    Item 334.
3) When "Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete Pavement" is required, it will be in accordance with Item 340.

352 - CLEANING AND/OR SEALING JOINTS AND CRACKS (ASPHALTIC CONCRETE)

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Joints and/or cracks will be sealed with the materials shown on the plans.
2) When routing of the joints is specified on the plans, the joints will be routed and blown
    clean to the widths and depths shown on the plans.

356 - FABRIC UNDERSEAL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    by the Engineer.
3) Sand or screenings can be shown on the plans or as approved by the Engineer.

358 - ASPHALTIC CONCRETE SURFACE REHABILITATION

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits, areas and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
2) Width and depth for heating, scarifying and relaying the asphaltic concrete pavement
    must be shown on the plans.
3) When a mobile testing laboratory is shown on the plans, requirements must be shown on the plans.

360 - CONCRETE PAVEMENT

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  1) Limits and/or locations must be shown on the plans.
  2) The specified thickness and width of the concrete pavement must be shown on the typical section(s).
  3) The size, shape and type of the joint sealants and fillers will be shown on the plans.
  4) Size, type and location of dowel bars must be shown on the plans.
  5) Reinforcing steel will be placed, spaced and secured as shown on the plans.
  6) When required in the pavement, all transverse and longitudinal joints will be of the type or
      alternate type as shown on the plans and will be constructed at the required location and alignment
      as shown on the plans.
  7) Joint filler boards will be of the size, shape and type shown on the plans and will be anchored as
      indicated on the plans.
  8) Membrane curing will not be allowed on the concrete surface when it is to be overlaid with ACP.
  9) When emulsified asphalt is used for curing the concrete surface, the type, grade and percent of
      emulsion asphalt in mixture must be shown on the plans.

361 - FULL-DEPTH REPAIR OF EXISTING CONCRETE PAVEMENT

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

2) Size and grade of reinforcing steel and dowels must be shown on the plans.
3) Tie bar spacing will be as shown on the plans.

368 - TERMINAL ANCHORAGE LUGS (CONCRETE PAVEMENT)

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The locations for the terminal anchorage lugs for concrete pavement must be shown on the plans.
2) The specified depth and width must be shown on the typical section(s).
3) Must include the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet for details of constructing the
    terminal anchorage lugs:
