SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 1) Show the location and placement of work zone pavement markings for all roadways to be opened to traffic during
construction on plans. 2) Show the color (white or yellow), type, and widths of the work
zone pavement markings on
plans. 3) This is a plans quantity
measurement item. 4) Pay for the elimination of
non-removable markings under Item 677,

666 - REFLECTORIZED PAVEMENT MARKINGS
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Show the location and placement of reflectorized pavement markings on plans.
2) Show the type, color (white or yellow), shapes, sizes, widths and thickness (Type I Markings only) of the
reflectorized pavement markings on plans.
3) Show the type of glass beads to be used in the markings on the plans.
4) Show traffic control on the plans.
5) Show the guides to mark the lateral location of pavement markings on plans.
6) Where double stripes are placed, each stripe will be measured separately.
7) Where yield bars are placed, they will be measured as each yield bar, not each individual yield bar tirangle.
8) This is a plans quantity measurement item.

AND MARKERS
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 1) Use this Item is to be used when totally removing
markings/markers and providing markings/markers in a different
location. It is critical that the existing
markings/markers be totally removed and not visible to the
drivers. 2) Show the types and sizes of the
existing pavement markings to be eliminated on
plans. 3) If necessary, removal
of raised pavement markers will be subsidiary to various bid
items. 4) Show asphalt and aggregate
types and grades on plans. 5) Show surface
treatment application rates on plans. 6) This
is a plans quantity measurement item.

MARKINGS
SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 1) Use this Item when preparing to put a new marking
down in the same location that a marking exists or on a brand-new
surface. This item requires an old and flaking existing
marking to be prepared (not totally removed), prior to the new
marking being applied. 2) Show the location of the pavement surface areas to be prepared for the
pavement surface preparation for pavement markings or raised
pavement markers on
plans. 3) Methods for preparation
are at the option of the contractor unless otherwise specified on
the plans. 4) This is a plans

department to be picked up by the contractor at locations on
plans. 2) Show the location that any unused or salvageable
signal equipment will be returned to the department by the
contractor on

for installing, replacing and removing the following work
categories:
