1) Check - Type of Material to be furnished by the contractor: ACP, HMCL, LRA, Containerized patching material, etc. and the Type.  
2) Tack Coat type, or note if materials are to be furnished by the State.
3) Show the minimum callout quantity.

712 - CLEANING AND SEALING JOINTS AND CRACKS (ASPHALT CONCRETE)

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Contractor furnishes materials unless otherwise shown on the plans.
2) Show sealant material on the plans, such as hot poured asphalt rubber, cold poured crack seal material or polymerized asphalt.
3) Show when routing of joints and cracks is required and dimensions (width and depth).
4) Shoulders wider than 6 ft. are considered additional lanes.
5) Specify aggregate specifications if required.

720 - REPAIR OF SPALLING IN CONCRETE PAVEMENT

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Note if materials are to be furnished by the State and location for material pickup.  If materials are to be furnished by the contractor, identify type of material.
2) List type of elastomeric patching material.
3) Prepare table of locations and estimate of quantities.  Identify areas and dimensions for breaking back old concrete.

730 - ROADSIDE MOWING

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Identify any specific equipment requirements. 
2) Identify Non-Mow Areas. 
3) Show tables of roads to be mowed including: County, Highway, Beginning Layman’s Description, Beginning Reference Marker, Ending Layman’s Description, Ending Reference Marker, Strip Acres, and Full Width Acres.
4) Strip and Full-Width mowing are plans quantity items.
5) Spot mowing has a minimum acreage per work request is 3 acres.
6) Specify when washing equipment is required and counties affected
7) Specify Traffic Control requirements in general notes.
8) The following Statewide Standard Details Sheet is required for mowing:

734 - LITTER REMOVAL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, Contractor furnishes materials.
2) Show areas on litter removal.
3) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, spot litter removal is to be performed within 2 hours of notification.
4) Spot litter will be paid a minimum of 3 acres per callout.
5) Identify traffic control requirements in notes.

735 - DEBRIS REMOVAL

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Show locations of debris removal on plans.
2) Center medians and mainlanes debris removal, frontage roads debris removal, and entrance and exit ramps debris removal goes an additional 5 ft. adjacent to the pavement, unless otherwise shown on the plans.
3) For spot debris removal the Contractor is to respond within 2 hours of notification, unless otherwise shown on the plans.  A minimum of 1 roadbed mile will be paid per callout, unless otherwise shown on the plans.
4) Traffic control will not be paid for directly but will be subsidiary to this Item, unless otherwise shown on the plans.
5) Debris removal required for work orders issued under Item 734, “Litter Pickup,” or Item 738, “Cleaning and Sweeping Highways,” will be subsidiary to that Item unless otherwise shown on the plans.

738 - CLEANING AND SWEEPING HIGHWAYS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Designate on the plans pavement surfaces and other areas which require debris removal.  Other areas could be all sides of raised pavement markers, barrier drain slots, slotted drains. Inlet openings, attenuators, and guardrails.
2) Spot sweeping requires response time period on the plans.  The minimum callout length is 1 shoulder mile.
3) Handwork areas need to be shown on the plans.
4) Specify traffic control requirements in notes.
5) Specify any specialized equipment requirements (example: Vacuum sweeper).

2) Show the number and location of picnic or rest areas, the number of attendants, work days and specified staffing hours, frequency of maintenance, and other scheduled work items.
3) Show on plans how often to perform rest areas services.
4) Unless otherwise shown on the plans certain services will be performed daily for picnic and rest areas.
5) Show fertilize information.
6) Show the removal and disposal of grass and tree clippings, limbs, leaves, and pine needles.

751 - LANDSCAPING  MAINTENANCE

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Unless otherwise shown on the plans materials will be furnished in accordance with Article 193.2., “Materials.”
2) Furnish equipment and tools as shown on the plans.
3) State what additional maintenance to plants within plant beds is required.
4) Show watering areas that do not have an irrigation system.
5) Show deficiencies in irrigation system that need initial repair.
6) Unless otherwise shown on the plans, apply and maintain mulch at 2 in.
7) Areas and species to be mulched will be shown on the plans.
8) Show fertilizer application information on the plans.

4) Use Protection System II, unless otherwise shown on the plans.
5) Pay as a steel beam or girder over the length of 1 span, unless otherwise shown on the plans.
6) Pay for repair of other elements shown on the plans.

788 - CONCRETE BEAM REPAIR

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Specify repair material strength if more than 5,000 psi or different from item 429.
2) Repair damaged prestressed concrete beams by patching spalls, and injecting cracks as shown on the plans.
3) If shown on the plans, preload the damaged beam prior to repair work.
4) If shown on the plans, remove and replace damaged Bridge Protective Assembly.
5) Provide supplemental reinforcing as shown on the plans.
6) Show approximate quantities of beam repair on the plans for the Contractor’s information only.  Indicate approximate surface repair areas square foot and crack injection lengths by the foot.
