Metropolitan Transit Authorities Contact List - 7 Total
Defined by state law as a metropolitan or regional transit agency created under specific state statutes, supported by a dedicated local sales tax, and having a population over 200,000.

This definition excludes three transit agencies from being considered an authority. Arlington and McAllen have populations over 200,000 but are not operated under the specified statutes. Laredo is operated under a specified statute and has a transit sales tax, but its population is under 200,000.
