    • New facility opened in March 2012
    • The building design will reflect the early "Low South" regional architectural characteristic with wooden clapboard structures elevated on brick footings, and wide covered porches to protect from the rain and to help catch breezes
    • A historical marker commemorating James Taylor White is located at the building entrance (at the eastbound facility only). On White's ranch in June 1832, area colonists signed the Turtle Bayou Resolutions which ultimately led to the decisive Battle of San Jacinto of the Texas Revolution
    • Chambers County was named for Thomas Jefferson Chambers (1802-1865), an early Texas pioneer who participated in the Texas Revolution
