2012 Environmental Conference

TxDOT will host the 2012 Environmental Conference Sept. 25-27, at the San Marcos Embassy Suites Hotel, Spa and Conference Center. TxDOT staff and those from state and federal regulatory agencies, local governments, other public partners and private sector partners are invited. Registration is required but there is no fee to attend.

The conference will include two days of training in general sessions and one full day of training with technical breakout sessions. The focus of the conference this year will be on how to best assist local governments and others to successfully navigate the environmental aspects of the TxDOT project development process. We will provide opportunities for our internal and external customers to share ideas and help shape the Environmental Affairs Division's goals and role within the TxDOT environmental process.

Online registration for the conference is now available. All participants must register for the conference regardless of whether hotel accommodations are needed.

Note: You must contact the hotel to make your own room arrangements separately from your conference registration.

Reservations can be made at the special conference rates by calling 512-392-6450. Room block information is as follows:

• Rooms for TxDOT employees will be at the state-rate of $85/single occupancy and $119/double occupancy. TxDOT employees must identify themselves as such during the hotel registration process and show TxDOT employee badges at check-in.
• Non-TxDOT guest rooms are $119/single occupancy and $119/double occupancy.
• After this block of rooms is full, the room rate increases to the Embassy Suites' prevailing rates ($164 and up).
• All guests must reserve room nights prior to 5:00 PM CST on August 26 to receive the special block room rates. After this date, all room nights which have not been reserved will be returned to the hotel's general inventory.
