Repairs to Corinth Parkway
bridge to begin this week FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; January 23, 2006 The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin repairing the Corinth Parkway bridge on Monday, Jan. 23. Southbound I-35E at the bridge will be closed for the repairs from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly for approximately four nights. Motorists should expect delays. Work on the bridge will include repairs to beams that were damaged by a high load in late November 2005. Northbound I-35E will close for the beam repairs from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for approximately two nights, beginning either Thursday, Jan. 26, or Sunday, Jan. 29, depending on the progress of the southbound repairs. Southbound I-35E will be closed again for one night for strength testing of the repairs on either Jan. 30 or Jan. 31. For both closures, motorists will be required to exit at Corinth Parkway off of I-35E. Gibson Associates will serve as the contractor of this project. Corinth Parkway should be reopened to traffic by Feb. 1. The schedule is subject to change if weather conditions do not allow work to be done.
