US 67 Frontage Road Project to Add Turning Lanes FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; February 1, 2006 The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin an intersection improvement project this week along the US 67 frontage roads at FM 1382 in Cedar Hill. The $424,000 project will add right turning lanes along the northbound and southbound US 67 frontage roads. During construction, motorists can expect various lane closures including frontage road traffic reduced to one-lane from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. Motorists should seek alternate routes to avoid delays along this heavily traveled roadway. "It’s a very busy intersection but we’re going to try to minimize the inconvenience to motorists," said Mike Bostic, P.E., TxDOT’s Southwest Dallas area engineer. Approximately 68,000 vehicles travel on US 67 and more than 27,000 vehicles travel on FM 1382 in Cedar Hill on a daily basis. Contractor for the project is Phillip-Mays Corporation of Dallas. Work on the project is expected to complete in mid-July 2006.
