County bridges get state funding for replacement FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; February 27, 2006 AUSTIN – State transportation officials approved funding to replace five county bridges in Collin County. The Texas Transportation Commission, at its February meeting, approved the $1.3 million construction contract. "I appreciate the acknowledgement from TxDOT in recognizing the need for these improvements in keeping up with the growth in my district," said State Rep. Jodie Laubenberg of Rockwall. "The citizens of the area will be glad to see their tax dollars working locally and they will be the beneficiaries as they travel to their homes, their schools, and their offices". The locations for bridge replacement include the following: County Road 476 at Sister Grove Creek, County Road 475 at Sister Grove Creek, County Road 631 at Pot Rack Creek, County Road 534 at Pilot Grove Creek and County Road 534 at Pilot Grove Creek. The construction contract will be awarded to JMI Maintenance Inc. A construction schedule will be composed to begin the bridge replacements. The projects are estimated to take less than a year. These projects will replace the existing structurally-deficient bridges at these locations with those that meet current standards.
