State approves funding for U.S. 67 ramp relocation FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; February 27, 2006 AUSTIN – State transportation officials today approved funding to relocate a U.S. 67 ramp in Midlothian. The Texas Transportation Commission, at its monthly meeting, approved the $2.5 million contract. "I'm glad to see the Commission approved funding for this project," said State Rep. Jim Pitts of Waxahachie. "This project is vital to improving traffic safety and economic development in Midlothian." The project will add U-turn lanes to U.S. 67 at the intersection, allowing traffic to flow through the intersection without having to stop at the traffic signal. It will also relieve congestion, improve operation, and enhance economic development at a busy Midlothian intersection. The ramp relocation will also improve traffic flow along the area. The contract has been conditionally awarded to APAC-TEXAS, Inc. of Dallas.
