Sections of US 75 to close in early March in Collin County FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; March 1, 2006 Closures taking place to set up work zone The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close portions of US 75 on Sunday, March 5, to place work zone pavement markings on the roadway. The closures are related to a bottleneck and ramp reversal project along US 75 from the President George Bush Turnpike (SH 190) to Spring Creek Parkway. The northbound left lane on US 75, from Park Boulevard to Parker Road, will close from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Two left lanes also will be shut down at 9 p.m. on Sunday, and will remain closed until 4 a.m., Monday, March 6. Additionally, the Parker Road exit ramp will close permanently. All traffic will be diverted to exit at Park Boulevard. During the nighttime closure, crew members will install two left lane lines for the work area. Once the lines are installed, traffic will be shifted back to the left lanes so that two right lane lines can be installed. Message boards will be placed along US 75 to alert motorists to the lane closures. Law enforcement will be present to direct traffic during the nighttime closure. Following the weekend closures, contractors working on the US 75 project will begin setting portable concrete traffic barriers on the highway from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on March 7-10. One right lane will be closed while crew members start setting the barrier between Plano Parkway to FM 544 (15th Street). Upon installing the barrier in this section, crew members will begin setting the portable barrier between Park Boulevard and Parker Road, with one right lane closing on US 75. All construction activities will occur if there is no inclement weather.
