TxDOT to discuss SH 121
plans in Grapevine FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; March 6, 2006 A public hearing highlighting the reconstruction and widening of SH 121, from FM 2499 to Business 121, will take place on Tuesday, March 14, at the Grapevine Convention Center, located at 1209 South Main St. in Grapevine. Sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the event will begin at 6 p.m. with an open house followed by the actual hearing at 7 p.m. Potential improvements to SH 121 include converting the roadway into a ten-lane divided freeway with three frontage road lanes in each direction. Proposed reconstruction plans for SH 121 also would create grade separated interchanges at Grapevine Mills Boulevard, Sandy Lake Road and Freeport Parkway. Approximately 45 acres of additional right-of-way (ROW) are required for the project. One residence would be relocated for the SH 121 project. Information concerning the benefits and services for displacees and the Relocation and Assistance Program will be discussed at the hearing. Individuals attending the hearing will have the opportunity to view maps, drawings and the environmental document for the project. All information displayed at the hearing are on file and available for inspection and copying at the TxDOT Dallas District Office, located at 4777 East Highway 80 in Mesquite and the TxDOT Northwest Dallas Area Office, located at 12000 Greenville Ave. in Dallas. A tentative construction schedule, ROW acquisition schedule and information concerning the Relocation and Assistance Program also are available from both TxDOT Offices.
