TxDOT to discuss transportation services for the elderly and disabled at April 5 meeting FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; March 7, 2006 The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will hold the annual Section 5310 Elderly and Persons with Disabilities public meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at the Texas Department of Transportation, in the Dallas Room, 4777 E. Highway 80, Mesquite, Texas to discuss public transportation services for the elderly and persons with disabilities in Collin, Denton, Ellis, Kaufman, Navarro, Rockwall and Dallas counties. The goal of the public meeting will be to discuss the development of more cost-effective services that will improve the quality of transportation and serve the transit needs of the elderly and persons with disabilities in the Dallas area and surrounding counties. In addition, the meeting is to inform the public regarding the elderly and persons with disabilities public transportation current services and transit providers. Persons with disabilities planning to attend this public meeting, who require auxiliary aids or services such as interpreters for the hearing impaired, readers, or Braille, should contact Eric T. Saxon at 214-320-4473 at least two (2) work days prior to the meeting. The public meeting will be conducted in English and any requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should also be made at least two (2) days prior to the meeting. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs. Written and verbal comments from the public regarding this program may be presented at the meeting or submitted to the Texas Department of Transportation, Attention: Anne M. Polk, Planner, 4777 E.
