US 75 ramp to be removed
tomorrow FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; March 9, 2006 Northbound lane of frontage road to close for ramp removal The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin removing the Parker Road exit ramp off of US 75 at 9 a.m., Friday, March 10. Prior to removing the exit ramp, a nearby left frontage road lane will shut down on northbound US 75. Motorists who take the Parker Road exit should look for signage directing them to an alternate exit. The ramp removal is part of a bottleneck and ramp reversal project along US 75 from the President George Bush Turnpike (SH 190) to Spring Creek Parkway. "We will close the exit ramp and reconstruct it at a new location," said Kelly Selman, P.E., area engineer of the Collin County Area Office. "This ramp is being closed in order to alleviate some of the congestion that this area is experiencing due to entrance and exit ramps being built too close together on US 75." Additionally, a northbound left frontage road lane, located near the Spring Creek Parkway exit ramp, will close on March 10. The frontage road lane will shut down in preparation for building a temporary exit ramp for Spring Creek Parkway. Since late January 2006, Tiseo Paving has served as the contractor of this 320-day project. The contractor is scheduled to finish removing the Parker Road exit ramp in June 2006.
