TxDOT to host public meeting
on improvements to I-35 in Denton County FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; March 16, 2006 Enhancements to I-35 in Denton County will be presented at a public meeting on Thursday, March 23, at the Sanger High School, located at 100 Indian Lane in Sanger. The meeting will begin with an open house at 6 p.m. followed by a formal presentation at 7 p.m. After the presentation, the public is invited to comment on the presented information. The meeting is sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), in conjunction with the cities of Denton and Sanger as well as Denton and Cooke Counties. Currently, I-35 is a four-lane divided facility from US 380 in Denton County to FM 3002 in Cooke County, with frontage roads on both sides of the roadway. Proposed improvements would include two additional highway lanes in each direction and an additional lane for the existing two-lane frontage roads. The 15-mile project would convert the two-way frontage roads into a one-way road. Maps, drawings, and other information about the project will be on display, showing the project location and various alternative improvements to I-35. Project personnel will be available to answer questions in regards to the project.
