Wooden Bridges in Navarro County to be Replaced FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; May 17, 2006 The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin a $697,000 project this week to rebuild three Navarro County bridges. Located southeast of Corsicana on County Road (CR) SE 0010 at Post Oak Creek, CR SE 0050 at Post Oak Creek and CR SE 4030 at Indian Creek, the wooden bridges will be replaced with modern concrete bridges. Structure damage forced the county to close the bridges to traffic. The bridge replacement project is part of a federal program, said Darwin Myers, P.E., TxDOT’s Navarro County area engineer. "Ninety percent of the project is being funded through a federal bridge program. The program funds the replacement of these county bridges as long as Navarro County commits to spend 10 percent of the project cost on other county bridges." Crews will have 234 working days to complete the project. New Boston, Texas, based J-W Payne Construction is the project contractor.
