US 67 Improvements Focus of Public Meeting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; June 1, 2006

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will host a public meeting from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at the Cedar Hill Recreation Center located at 310 E. Parkerville Road in Cedar Hill. The purpose of the meeting is to seek public comment on the proposed US 67 (Gateway Horizon) improvements in southern Dallas County and northern Ellis County.

The meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation. Maps, drawings and other project information will be on display. TxDOT and other project personnel will be on hand to answer citizen questions.

The US 67 proposed improvements will extend from FM 1382 (Belt Line Road) in Cedar Hill to the US 287 Bypass in Midlothian and include the addition of a mainlane in each direction, a reversible High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV)/managed lane in the center median, one lane to the frontage roads, where needed, and an entire facility upgrade to meet current design criteria. The Gateway Horizon project corridor is approximately 9.3 miles.
