Project Description | Study Area Map | Study History | Public Hearing | Preliminary Schematics NOTICE OF FORMAL PUBLIC HEARING From Brown Boulevard/Avenue K to Green Oaks The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a formal public hearing on Thursday, October 26, 2006. The hearing will be held at the La Quinta Conference Center North located at 825 N. Watson Road in Arlington, Texas. Displays will be available for viewing at 6:00 p.m., and the hearing will commence at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the hearing is to present the preferred plan for widening and reconstruction of State Highway 360 (SH 360) from Brown Boulevard/Avenue K to Green Oaks in the Cities of Arlington and Grand Prairie, Tarrant County, Texas. The proposed improvement includes a segment of Interstate Highway 30 (IH 30) from Ballpark Way to Great Southwest Parkway as part of SH 360/IH 30 interchange reconstruction. The proposed improvements to SH 360 would reconstruct and widen the existing facility from 6 main lanes to 8 main lanes from Brown Boulevard/Avenue K. to Abram Street. The Division Street (SH 180) bridge over SH 360 and the adjacent Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) bridge would be reconstructed. Flyover ramps directly connecting the main lanes of IH 30 to SH 360 would be added. From south of Abram Street to Interstate 20 (IH 20), SH 360 would be widened on the inside to 8 main lanes. From IH 20 to Green Oaks, SH 360 would be widened on the inside to 6 main lanes. The proposed improvements to IH 30 would reconstruct and widen the existing facility from 6 main lanes to 10 main lanes with one reversible managed lane from Convention Center/Ballpark Way to Great Southwest Parkway. The length of the proposed project is approximately 8.0 miles measured along SH 360, and 2.4 miles measured along IH 30. The existing typical right-of-way width varies from 350 feet to 475 feet and the proposed typical right-of-way width varies from 350 feet to 690 feet. The proposed project would cross floodplains and jurisdictional waters at Johnson Creek, Cottonwood Creek, and 5 small tributaries. The proposed project would require the acquisition of approximately 20.60 acres of new right-of-way and displace or relocate 14 retail/commercial businesses. No residential displacements or relocations would be required. The State’s Relocation Assistance Program, its benefits and services for displacements, will be presented at the hearing by representatives from TxDOT. Layouts showing the project’s proposed Geometric Design (GD), draft Environmental Assessment (EA) document and other information about the proposed improvement will be displayed at the public hearing. The draft EA document and GD layouts for the project are on file and available for inspection and at the following locations:
