Contracted Qualification Test

Given an operational flat wheel roller, the candidate will perform the following tasks:

A. Preventive Maintenance: The candidate correctly:

_____1. Checked fluid levels – cold check.
_____2. Checked air cleaner system – serviced if required.
_____3. Checked the drums – verified type of ballast if present.
_____4. Inspected all components of machine.
_____5. Lubricated machine.
_____6. Checked scraper blades.
_____7. Inspected hydraulic lines and connections.
_____8. Inspected towing attachment. (if equipped)
_____9. Verified steering system is locked-out. (if equipped)
_____10. Started engine – verified fluid levels and correct gauge readings.
_____11. Operated controls to warm-up fluids.
_____12. Checked water sprinkler/spray system.
_____13. Checked lights.
_____14. Checked steering and brakes.
_____15. Checked all safety items.

B. Transport of Roller/Towed Roller: The candidate correctly:

_____1. Connected the towed roller to the truck.

_____5. Unlocked tilt bed on trailer.
_____6. Backed the roller off safely.
