Director Public Private Partnerships - BNSF Railway

Paul Cristina was named director, Public-Private-Partnerships for the MidCon Corridor of BNSF Railway in July 2015. Comprised of eleven states and one Canadian province, this corridor spans from Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Brownsville, Texas. In this role, Cristina works to forge partnerships between public entities and BNSF to develop mutually beneficial infrastructure projects that can improve public railroad efficiency.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Cristina was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and served as a civil engineer officer. He held positions of increasing responsibility within the base civil engineer squadrons at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida and Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, as an executive officer, and in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After leaving the U.S. Air Force, Cristina worked as a civil engineer and planning consultant in Florida and Texas, supporting infrastructure development projects for public and private clients. He was named a “Top 40 under 40” aviation professional by Airport Business Magazine in 2012.

Prior to this appointment, Cristina served as a network studies manager at BNSF from 2013 to 2015. He has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University.
