Miguel Perez is Director of International Customer Logistics for the Supply Chain Solutions business segment of Ryder System, a Fortune 500 global transportation and supply chain management solutions company. In this position, Mr. Perez is responsible for the Cross Border Group, managing all U.S.-Mexico cross-border operations for multiple accounts, including automotive, high-tech, and consumer products accounts. Mr. Perez oversees customer operations at six main border points along the U.S.-Mexico border: Tijuana-San Diego, Mexicali-Calexico, Ciudad Juarez-El Paso, Nuevo Laredo-Laredo, Reynosa-McAllen and Matamoros–Brownsville, with Ryder satellite operations in Aguascalientes and Monterrey, Mexico.
The services provided to Ryder's cross-border customers range from cross-border coordination and transportation, to warehousing, cross docking, distribution, yard management, U.S. transportation, Customs brokerage and paperwork coordination, route and logistics engineering, and value added services, among others.
Mr. Perez joined Ryder in 1999 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility. Before joining Ryder, he served as a plant manager for LCW Automotive Inc, an armored car and limousine manufacturer based in Laredo, Texas. Prior to that position, he worked for 13 years in the Tier 1 Automotive Industry as an operations manager, where he was responsible for overseeing the Customs, Traffic, Procurement and Materials Management departments.
Mr. Perez serves on the board of directors of the Border Trade Alliance (BTA), a non-profit organization that advocates for policies and initiatives designed to improve border affairs and trade relations among Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Tamaulipas State University in Mexico (Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas).
