President and C.E.O. of the Tecma Group of Companies
The Tecma Group of Companies provides shelter, manufacturing support, and consulting services throughout Mexico for foreign companies across the world. Alan co-founded the company in 1986 and is now President and CEO. Over the past 26 years, Alan has grown the company to more than 4,000 employees in 19 industrial facilities, competing directly with the China low-cost manufacturing alternative for North America. Alan’s never-ending commitment to commerce between Mexico and the rest of the world has placed Tecma at the forefront of Mexico’s international influence.
Alan was recently appointed Chairman of one of Mexico’s major Industrial Development Committees; he will serve as the first American to hold this position. Alan also serves on the Board of Directors of the Regional Economic Development Corporation for the northern region of Mexico; he is a Regional Member of the Merida II Initiative between the U.S. and Mexico and actively works on the Model Ports Sub Committees. He is also member of the Southwest Maquila Association; member of the University of Texas at El Paso 2014 Centennial Commission; member and major investor in the El Paso Chamber of Commerce and member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Alan serves on the board of TXL Group and the War Eagles Air Museum. Alan and his wife Patty are financial sponsors of C.A.F.E., a college scholarship foundation, and are major supporters of the University of Texas Athletics Programs. Alan is Past President of the Chamizal Foundation dealing with border health, Founder and Past President of the International Amigo Airsho, and a Founding Director of the El Paso Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure. He has been recently interviewed and quoted in international news media including National Public Radio, Al Jazeera TV, Reuters, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Houston Chronicle, The Associated Press, American Public Radio, The Economist, Business Week, KVIA News, Industry Week, El Paso Times, and El Paso Inc.
In recognition of his leadership in promoting aviation through education, Alan was inducted into the El Paso Aviation Hall of Fame. Alan also accepted for the second straight year an award from the Mexican Federal Government on behalf of his company for the leadership in environmental achievements.
Additionally, he was honored as their 2010 Distinguished Alumni for his Alma Mater, Southeastern Oklahoma University.
