The
SH 249 project is dedicated to improving mobility between Houston and Waco in a
safe, efficient, reliable and environmentally sensitive manner.
We are committed to working in partnership with corridor communities, drivers and other interested parties to provide solutions to current and future transportation needs while respecting the unique Grimes County environment.
The SH 249 project is still in the preliminary development stage. Additional
public meetings will be held to further plan the roadway layout. Construction is
not anticipated to begin for another five to seven years.
