From US 83, south of Harlingen to Rangerville and thence southeastward to Sam Houston Blvd. (Cameron County) New Designation.
From US 83 approximately 3.0 miles southeast of Harlingen southwestward to connection with FM 675. (Cameron County) Revision to clarify description (see FM 675).
From US 77/83 southeast of Harlingen, southwestward and southward approximately 10.7 miles to the General Services Administration Complex at the Los Indios International Bridge. (Cameron County) New description; section of approx. 3.0 miles added from present end of FM 509 southward to connect with the General Services Admin. Complex at the Los Indios International Bridge site.
From FM 508, 2.5 miles east of the intersection of FM 507, southward
approx. 2.0 miles to FM 1595; then southward approx. 1.8 miles over existing
FM 1595, to FM 106; then southwestward approx. 4.0 miles over existing
SL 590, to US 77/83; then southwestward on new location to the General
Services Administration Complex at the Los Indios International Bridge
at the Texas/Mexico border, a total distance of approx. 17.2 miles.

FM 509 extended from FM 675 southward to border.
From FM 508, 2.5 miles east of FM 507, southward to UR 509 at FM 1595; and from another point on UR 509 at US 87, southwestward to the General Services Administration Complex at the Los Indios International Bridge at the TX/Mexico border, a total distance of approximately 11.530 miles.
