From US 82 at Ector southward and westward via Ely to US  69 in Whitewright, a distance of approximately 11.7 miles.  (Fannin and Grayson Counties)  Extended approximately 4.3 miles westward to end of FM 1283.  FM 1283 canceled and combined, adding approximately 1.1 miles.

From US 69 south of Whitewright northward and eastward via Ely to US 82 at Ector, a distance of approximately 12.6 miles. (Grayson and Fannin Counties)  Extended approximately 0.9 mile to new location of US 69.

From US 60 south of Whitewright northeastward via Ely and Ector to SH 78 near the north city limit of Bonham, a distance of approximately 22.9 miles. (Grayson and Fannin Counties)  Extended from Ector to SH 78, adding approximately 10.4 miles.

From US 69 south of Whitewright, northeastward via Fly and Ector approximately 28.2 miles to FM 273. (Grayson and Fannin Counties)   Extended northeastward approximately 6.3 miles from SH 78 to FM 273.

From US 69 south of Whitewright, northeastward via Fly and Ector to a point on SH 121; and then from another point on SH 78 to FM 273, a distance of approximately 26.90 miles.  (Fannin County) (New Description)  At District’s request, segment of FM 898 removed for a proposed runway extension.

From US 69 south of Whitewright, northeastward via Fly and Ector to a point on SH 121, a distance of approximately 20.86 miles. (Fannin County) (New Description) At district’s request, segment of FM 898 redesignated on the state highway system as FM 273, from SH 78 northward to FM 1396 at FM 273, a distance of approximately 6.13 miles.
