From Waco via Marlin and Bremond to Hearne, then follow US 190 from Hearne to Bryan and then from Bryan via Navasota, Hempstead, at or near Katy, Sugar Land, and Alvin to a point on US 75 near north end of new causeway.  General redescription of Highway System.

From US 183 south of Throckmorton via Breckenridge, Eastland, Dublin, Meridian, Waco, Marlin and Bremond to Hearne, then follow US 190 from Hearne to Bryan and then from Bryan via Navasota, Hempstead, at or near Katy, Sugarland, and Alvin to a point on US 75 near north end of new causeway. Extended from Waco to US 183 south of Throckmorton.

From US 183 south of Throckmorton via Breckenridge, Eastland, Dublin, Meridian, Waco, Marlin and Bremond to Hearne; then follow US 190 from Hearne to Bryan; thence from Bryan via Navasota to Hempstead; and from Sugar Land via Alvin to US 75 near the north end of the now Galveston Causeway. Cancels section Hempstead via Katy to Sugar Land; now FM 359.



Minute Order 032531, dated 08/20/1952

From Breckenridge via Eastland, Dublin, Meridian, Waco, Marlin and Bremond to Hearne; then follow U. S. 190 from Hearne to Bryan; thence from Bryan via Navasota to Hempstead; and from Sugarland via Alvin to US 75 near the north end of the new Galveston Causeway.  Section from south of Throckmorton to Breckenridge cancelled and transferred to US 183.

From Breckenridge via Eastland, Dublin, Meridian, Waco, Marlin and Bremond to Hearne; then follow US 190 from Hearne to Bryan; thence from Bryan via Navasota, Hempstead, Sugarland and Alvin to IH 45 near north end of Galveston Causeway.  Extended over US 290 from Hempstead to FM 1960; FM 1960 from US 290 southward to US 59 redesignated SH 6. Effective 01/01/1969.

From US 380 near Old Glory, southeastward via Stamford and Albany to Cisco; thence along US 80 to Eastland; thence via Dublin, Meridian, Waco, Marlin, and Bremond to Hearne; then follow US 190 from Hearne to Bryan; then from Bryan via Navasota, Hempstead, Sugar Land, and Alvin to IH 45 near north end of Galveston Causeway.  Section from US 80 in Eastland north to US183 redesignated SH 69 section concurrent with US 183 to Breckenridge cancelled; extended over US 80 to Cisco & US 380 from Cisco northwestward to present SH 24 near Old Glory redesignated as SH 6.

From Texas/Oklahoma State Line via Quanah, Crowell, Benjamin, Rule, Stamford and Albany to Cisco; thence along US 80 to Eastland; thence via Dublin, Meridian, Waco, Marlin, and Bremond to Hearne; then follow US 190 from Hearne to Bryan; thence from Bryan via Navasota, Hempstead, Sugar Land and Alvin to IH 45 near north end of Galveston Causeway.  (New Description) Extended north over old location SH 283, from northwest of Stamford to Oklahoma State Line.  Section of SH 6 from US 380  near Old Glory southeastward to present SH 283 transferred to SH 283.

Same as above.  Section of 0.258 mile transferred from FM 1960 to SH 6 at Satsuma from old location US 290 northward to new location US 290.

From the Texas/Oklahoma State Line via Quanah, Crowell, Benjamin, Rule, Stamford and Albany to Cisco; thence concurrent with US 80 to Eastland; thence via Gorman, DeLeon, Dublin, Hico, Meridian, Clifton, Marlin to Hearne; thence concurrent with US 190 to Bryan; thence via Navasota, Hempstead, Waller, Sugar Land, and Alvin to IH 45 near the north end of Galveston Causeway; and then from another point at the junction of SH 6 and US 90A southeastward to McKeever Rd and SH 6, a total approximate distance of 560.0 miles. (Hardeman, Foard, Knox, Haskell, Jones, Shackelford, Callahan, Eastland, Comanche, Erath, Hamilton, Bosque, McLennan, Falls, Robertson, Brazos, Grimes, Waller, Harris, Ft. Bend, Brazoria and Galveston Counties)  (New Description)  Section of approx. 10.0 miles near Sugar Land added from US 90A southeastward to McKeever Rd (proposed SH 6 Bypass).
