Minute Order 016701, dated 09/26/1939

From a point on US 290 near Paige via Lincoln and Caldwell to Bryan, then follow US 190 from Bryan to Madisonville, and then from Madisonville via Crockett, Alto, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, and Milam to the Texas/Louisiana State Line east of Milam.  General redescription of Highway System.



Minute Order 020096, dated 08/02/1943

From a connection with US 81 near San Marcos to US 290 west of Bastrop, then follow US 290 to a point near Paige, then via Lincoln and Caldwell to Bryan, then follow US 190 from Bryan to Madisonville, then from Madisonville via Crockett, Alto, Nacogdoches, San Augustine and Milam to the Texas/Louisiana State Line east of Milam.  Extended over U.S. 290 from near Paige to point west of Bastrop, thence over road marked as O.S.R. to connection with U.S. Highway No. 81 near San Marcos.

From US 81 near San Marcos northeastward via Bastrop, near Paige, Lincoln, Caldwell, to Bryan then follow US 190 to Madisonville thence via Crockett, Alto, Nacogdoches, San Augustine and Milam to Texas/Louisiana State Line. (Hays, Caldwell, Bastrop, Lee, Burleson, Brazos, Madison, Houston, Cherokee, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, and Sabine Counties)  Section from Bastrop to near Paige added.

No change to description.  (Hays, Caldwell, Bastrop, Lee, Burleson, Brazos, Madison, Houston, Cherokee, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, and Sabine Counties) At district’s and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service’s request, a segment of SH 21 is designated as a Forest Highway (FH) from SH 87 in Milam, eastward to the east Sabine National Forest boundary at the Louisiana-Texas state line, a distance of approximately 7.0 miles. Upon the Texas Transportation Commission’s nomination approval by that this minute order, all other pertinent information will be forwarded to the FHWA for their consideration as a FOREST HIGHWAY on the forest highway system.
