From a point on IH 35 approximately five miles north of Georgetown to a point on US 183 near the Burnet/Williamson County Line.  General redescription of Highway System.

From IH 35, north of Georgetown, northwestward via Florence to its junction with US 190 in Killeen, a distance of approximately 32.5 miles.  (Bell and Williamson Counties)  New description; as requested by District, section of approx.18.5 miles of RM 440 from SH 138 near Florence to US 190 in Killeen transferred to SH 195.

From IH 35 north of Georgetown northwestward via Florence to the east gate of Fort Hood, a distance of 34.7 miles.  (Bell County)  (New Description)  At District’s request, segment of FM 439 redesignated as SH 195, from US 190 to the east gate of Fort Hood, a distance of approximately 1.5 miles.
