In and near the city of Quinlan, SH 276 was designated on the state highway system on a new location from approximately 0.5 miles east of FM 36 to SH 34, a distance of approximately 2.0 milesa. The old alignment of SH 276 was redesignated as BS 276-L, from approximately 0.5 miles east of FM 36 eastward to SH 34b, then southward and concurrently with SH 34 to SH 276c, a distance of approximately 2.3 miles.
