From SH 137 south of Lamesa via Midland to a point on US 67 in Rankin; thence from another point on US 67 approximately 4 miles southwest of Rankin southward via lraan to a point on US 290 approximately 4 miles northwest of Sheffield.  (Dawson, Martin, Midland, Upton, Crockett, and Pecos Counties)  Part of SH 51 from US 67 southwest of Rankin to US 290 in Pecos County cancelled and redesignated SH 349.  (To become effective upon the date that the 1957 Official Highway Travel Map is released to the public.)

From SH 137 at Lamesa, southward via Midland to US 67 at Rankin; and from another point on US 67 west of Rankin, southward via Iraan to US 90 at Dryden, a distance of approximately 211.0 miles.  (Dawson, Martin, Midland, Upton, Crockett, Pecos, and Terrell Counties)  New description; section of approximately 59.0 miles, from US 290 southward to US 90, transferred from FM 1217.

No change to description. At District’s request, SH 349 designated along new location, from SH 349, 1.9 miles north of the Martin/Midland county line to FM 1788, on the state highway system, then concurrently designated along an existing segment of FM 1788, from near CR 60 to the junction of IH 20, then concurrently designated along an existing segment of IH 20, from FM 1788 to the junction of SH 158, and then along IH 20 and SH 158, from SH 158 to its junction with the former segment of SH 349. Former location of SH 349 redesignated as BS 349-C.


[La Entrada al Pacifico Corridor--The following highways and any portion of a highway in a corridor on two miles of either side of the center line of the highway:

SH 349 from Lamesa to the point on that highway that is closest to 32 degrees, 7 minutes, north latitude, by 102 degrees, 6 minutes, west longitude;

The segment or any roadway extending from the point described by Subdivision (1) to the point on FM 1788 closest to 32 degrees, 0 minutes, north latitude, by 102 degrees, 16 minutes, west longitude;

FM 1788 from the point described by Subdivision (2) to its intersection with IH 20;

IH 20 from its intersection with FM 1788 to its intersection with US 385;

US 385 from Odessa to Fort Stockton, including those portions that parallel US 67 and IH 10; and

US 67 from Fort Stockton to Presidio, including those portions that parallel IH 10 and US 90.  Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 595, ยง 1, eff. June 9, 1997]
