Austin Loop - From SH 71 east of Austin near Bergstrom Air Force Base, northward along US 183; thence westward and southward along the old locations of SH 71 and US 290 through Austin to US 290 near western edge of Austin.  (Travis County)  New designation; mileage transferred from the old locations of SH 71, from near Bergstrom Air Force Base to IH 35; and US 290, from IH 35 to new location of US 290 west of Austin.

As requested by District, section of approx. 4.8 miles, from SH 71 in southeastern Austin, northward along Lamar and eastward along 1st St to IH 35, returned to the City of Austin for maintenance.
