Minute Order 016701, dated 09/26/1939

From a point on US 90 at Marathon, thence in a generally southward direction along the present maintained county road to a junction of the Bouquillos and Terlingua Roads, thence along the county road to a point near the entrance of the CCC Camp, thence to the St. Helena Canyon, with a spur from a point approximately 8.6 miles east of Terlingua to Terlingua. General redescription of Highway System.

From a point on US 90 at Marathon, thence in a generally southward direction along the present maintained county road to the north boundary line of the Big Bend National Park, an approximate distance of 40.0 miles. (Brewster County) That portion of SH 227 within the boundaries of the Big Bend National Park cancelled.
