From a connection with SH 21 at Midway, via Normangee to a connection with US 190 at Benchley; and from a connection with US 290 west of Bastrop to a connection with SH 29 in Caldwell County; and from a connection with US 81 near San Marcos, eastward 4.4 miles.  To set up in official Designation Records, sections that have been and are now being maintained.

From a connection with SH 21 at Midway, via Normangee to a connection with US 190 at Benchley; and from Benchley to a connection with SH 21 east of the Brazos River; and from a connection with US 290 west of Bastrop to a connection with SH 29 in Caldwell County; and from a connection with US 81 near San Marcos, eastward 4.4 miles.  Addition of section from Benchley to a connection with SH 21 east of the Brazos River.

From a connection with SH 21 at Midway, via Normangee to a connection with US 190 at Benchley; and from Benchley to a connection with SH 21 east of the Brazos River.  (Madison, Leon, Robertson, and Brazos Counties) Marking from US 81 near San Marcos to US 290 west of Bastrop changed to SH 21.
