Safety Video
For the safety of all who volunteer for the program, all volunteers
must attend at least two safety meetings per year, as required by the
program agreement. It is required that all participating volunteers view
the Adopt-a-Highway Safety Video prior to any planned pick-ups. It is
the responsibility of the group's representative to arrange for such a
meeting and/or ensure video has been watched by members of the group.
Potential dangers involved while participating in this program on
roadways can include, but are not limited to: high speed traffic,
potentially noxious plants, broken glass, hazardous materials, sharp
metal, and potentially harmful insects or wildlife.
Participating volunteers to the program agree to restrict litter pickup
activities to the area of right-of-way off the traveled portion of the
roadway. While performing activities on rights-of-way, the method,
manner, and appearance of the participants must not, in any way,
distract, disrupt, or adversely affect traffic.

What They Say
“It's a lazy, selfish move when you litter. There's not any place
where littering is all right.”
—Matthew McConaughey (a.k.a. Litter Wrangler)
