Jeff Austin III is a member of the Texas Transportation Commission overseeing statewide activities of the Texas Department of Transportation, appointed by Gov. Rick Perry in October 2011.

Austin is Vice Chairman of Austin Bank Texas NA. He is a board member of First State Bank Athens, Capital Bank in Houston, and a past president of First State Bank Frankston. He is a board member and past chair of the Texas Bankers Association,a member of the American Bankers Association Government Relations Committee and the Bank CEO Network, an executive committee member and past director of the Texas Lyceum, and a board member, past president and scoutmaster of the East Texas Area Council of Boy Scouts. From 2005-2011, Austin was the Chairman of the North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority, appointed by Gov. Perry.  Austin received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler, and is a graduate of the Southern Methodist University Southwestern Graduate School of Banking, and the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
