Jim Reed is no stranger to civic duty and community issues. During his career from serving as Division Manager of Southwestern Bell Telephone to his current role as President of the San Antonio Medical Foundation, Reed has always responded to the call to serve by volunteering his time for the betterment of San Antonio and the State of Texas.

Reed started his deep involvement in transportation issues during his term as Chairman of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. Reed currently serves on a number of civic and volunteer groups, including the Planning Committee Chair / Board Member of the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority; Immediate Past Chairman of the San Antonio Mobility Coalition; Board of Directors of the Government Personnel Mutual Life Insurance Company, Texas Alliance of Recreational Organizations, United Way of San Antonio/Bexar County and the Development Board for the University of Texas at San Antonio.
