|Transportation, Administration, and Technology Policy Director, Indiana Governor's Office|
Under the direction of Governor Daniels, Anne Valentine serves as the governor’s policy expert on transportation, as well as managing a portfolio of state agencies, including the Indiana Department of Transportation, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Department of Administration, Office of Technology, Arts Commission and State Fair.
In 2006, Indiana unveiled Governor Daniels’ Major Moves program, the state’s 10-year fully funded transportation plan. Between 2006 and 2015, Indiana will invest nearly $12 billion on hundreds of new road construction, preservation, resurfacing and other projects. Funding for the 10-year program comes from a variety of sources, including proceeds from leasing the Indiana Toll Road.
A graduate of Butler University, Valentine began her career working in communications and prior to joining the Daniels’ Administration in 2005, spent 9 years working in the non-profit community. As the Executive Director of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, her accomplishments included increasing annual giving by 75, doubling ticket sales, and securing a $300,000 Lilly Endowment grant.
