Texas Governor Rick Perry Governor Rick Perry, Texas

A fifth-generation Texan, Governor Rick Perry has taken an extraordinary journey from a West Texas tenant farm to the governor's office.

Texas' 47th governor, Rick Perry has led a life of public service, serving four and a half years in the United States Air Force, and more than two decades in office as a state representative, commissioner of agriculture, lieutenant governor and now governor.

Under Gov. Perry’s leadership, Texas has consistently been ranked as one of the best places in the nation for economic development and expansion due to our low taxes, reasonable regulatory structure and highly educated workforce. In less than five years, Texas has created 1 million net new jobs.

The Governor has offered a visionary transportation plan-the Trans-Texas Corridor-which not only provides thousands of miles of new roads, but also new rail lines, room for petroleum and electric lines, water lines and broadband technology.
