Captain James Clarkson
  General Manager, Maritime Security Division, Transportation Security Administration

With 20 years in the maritime and cargo industries, Jamie Clarkson is the General Manager for the Maritime Security Division.  In this position he is responsible for the security of marine transportation including assessing threats to transportation, developing policies, strategies and plans for dealing with threats to transportation, ensure the adequacy of security measures for the marine transportation system.

Prior to this position, he served as TSA's General Manager for Rail Security and was also the acting Assistant Administrator for Intermodal Security overseeing TSA's security activities in all transportation modes except aviation.  He served as senior TSA policy advisor leading initiatives such as the development of the National Strategy for Transportation Security, TSA's Surface Transport Security Inspector Program and the National Strategy for Maritime Security.  Capt. Clarkson led TSA's participation in supply chain risk analysis associated with Secure Systems of Transportation (the supply chain security requirements of the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002), as well as participating in the management of Operation Safe Commerce. Capt. Clarkson was also selected to join the Supply Chain Security Action Team, a hand-picked group tasked to provide innovative solutions for Secretary Chertoff's Second Stage Review of the Department of Homeland Security.
