Jim Stergios is Executive Director of Pioneer Institute, a public policy research organization in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to joining Pioneer, he was Chief of Staff and Undersecretary for Policy in the Commonwealth's Executive Office of Environmental Affairs, where he chaired the Water Policy Task Force and drove the Secretariat's efforts on land protection, smart growth, and regulatory and permit reform. For the Office for Commonwealth Development, he spearheaded urban revitalization strategies and the development of Commonwealth Capital. His prior experience includes teaching at the university level and founding and managing his own business. Jim graduated summa cum laude and holds a doctoral degree in Political Science from Boston University.
