Associated General Contractors of Texas
Thomas L. Johnson is the Executive Vice President of the Associated General Contractors of Texas. The association represents highway-heavy contractors and related industries in Texas. The membership traditionally builds over 85 of the highways in Texas.
The association works with agencies such as the Texas Department of Transportation, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, cities, counties, and legislators on both the state and national levels, as well as the Executive Branches of Government on both the state and national levels.
Mr. Johnson was named one of “America’s Top 100 Private Sector Transportation Design and Construction Professionals of the 20th Century” by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association. He was also inducted into the Texas Transportation Institute Hall of Honor and received the Russell Perry award from the Texas Department of Transportation.
He currently serves on the Texas Department of Transportation 2030 Committee.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 1959 and served in the United States Army achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. Previously, he served on bank boards, the Chamber of Commerce, associations, and other civic boards.
