Brian Deery is the Senior Director of the Highway and Transportation Division of the Associated General Contractors of America. He is responsible for legislative, regulatory and market issues which affect contractors especially related to highway, bridge, transit, railroad and airport runway construction. AGC is an national association representing 32,500 construction industry businesses including 7,500 of the Nation's leading general contracting firms. AGC has 96 chapters nationwide.

Brian maintains ongoing liaison with the US Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Federal Transit Administration, the Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and a variety of industry groups with related interests. Brian works very closely with AGC's Congressional Relations Department educating members of Congress on construction industry issues and developing the grass roots support necessary to promote AGC's legislative agenda on Capitol Hill.

Brian began his career with AGC in 1978 as the assistant director in the Heavy Industrial Division. He moved on to become the Director of the Municipal-Utilities Division, a position he held for 10 years.

Brian served on the Federal Highway Administration’s Work Zone Safety Senior Working Group, serves on the Fairfax County Virginia Transportation Advisory Commission, Chaired the Washington’s highway fraternity group called “Road Gang” in 2009 and has represented AGC of a variety of Transportation Research Board (TRB) panels.

Brian has a master's degree in Public Administration from the American University in Washington, D.C. His undergraduate degree is in government from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
