Glenn Hegar, Jr.

Senator Glenn Hegar serves as Chairman of the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission, Chairman of the Legislative Sportsman's Caucus, and Vice Chairman of the Committee on Government Organization.  In addition, he also serves as a member of the Committees on Natural Resources, Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Nominations, and Criminal Justice.

In 2009, Glenn was recognized for his strong support of Texan's 2nd Amendment rights by being awarded the Doc Brown Legislator of the Year Award for 2009 by the Texas State Rifle Association. Earlier this year, Texans for Lawsuit Reform recognized him with the Civil Justice Leadership Award for his work ensuring that Texas retains a world class civil justice system. In recognition of his pro-business voting record, the Texas Association of Business named Hegar "Champion for Free Enterprise," its most prestigious award, and the Texas Municipal Police Association awarded him their Legislative Excellence Award for his work on behalf of our brave men and women in law enforcement.
